If you're working out where to hold a class reunion in Boston, book the dinner near the station most classmates already use, then keep a bar within a short walk for the late crowd. North Station, Back Bay and South Station each have both, and all three are commuter rail stops. Half the class still lives near campus, a few are driving in from the suburbs, and someone is flying in the morning of the party.

This post lists seven places, then covers which station suits who's coming, how to size the room, and how late the night can run. It's part of our guide to Boston.

Where to hold a class reunion in Boston?

Hold the dinner or reception in a room you can book, and keep a bar or game spot nearby for afterward. The seven below are each within about a 10-minute walk of a T station.

Our picks in Boston

Chosen by the Where2Meet team. Photos, ratings and addresses load live from Google Maps.

  • Night Shift Brewing - Lovejoy Wharf

Classmates coming in on the northern commuter rail lines step off at North Station, about a 4-minute walk from this taproom on Lovejoy Wharf. It takes reservations, suits groups and is moderately priced. It opens at 11:30 a.m. Friday to Sunday and at 3 p.m. on weekdays.

  • Rochambeau

Book this French restaurant on Boylston Street when the class wants a sit-down dinner that feels like an occasion. It has event space, takes reservations and is expensive. Hynes Convention Center on the Green Line is about a 4-minute walk.

  • The College Club of Boston

Reserve this bed and breakfast on Commonwealth Avenue for a reunion that wants its own rooms, since it has event space and classmates from out of town can stay upstairs. Contact the club for dates. Arlington on the Green Line is about a 5-minute walk.

  • Reunion BBQ

Its long hours suit a class that wants dinner and a late table in one place, staying open until 1:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. It takes reservations, suits groups and is moderately priced. Tufts Medical Center on the Orange Line is about a 10-minute walk.

  • Clerys

Move the after-party to this pub when dinner ends in Back Bay. It takes reservations, suits groups and stays open until 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, but it's closed on Mondays. Back Bay station is about a 2-minute walk.

  • SPIN Boston

Ping-pong tables give classmates something to do besides trade updates, which helps a big crowd mix. Book ahead, since it takes reservations and suits groups. It's closed Sunday and Monday, and South Station is about an 8-minute walk.

  • the Lawn on D

Plan a daytime reunion here when partners and kids are coming, because this Seaport lawn has room to spread out and takes reservations. It opens at noon on weekends and is outdoors, so name a rain plan. World Trade Center on the Silver Line is about a 9-minute walk.

Google Maps

The hours, reservations, price levels and walk times on these cards come from Google Maps as of October 2026. Walk times start at the MBTA station named in each note.

Which station works for classmates coming from out of town?

Choose the station by where most of the class starts. For a reunion, the commuter rail decides more than the subway does.

  • North Station. Commuter rail trains from the north end here, and the Orange Line and the Green Line's D and E branches stop here too.
  • Back Bay. Trains to the south and west stop here, along with the Orange Line. Reunion BBQ is about a 12-minute walk.
  • South Station. The same southern and western lines start here. The Red Line stops here, and the Silver Line runs here from Logan Airport.

Check the MBTA's commuter rail schedules for the last train home before you set an end time. Weekend schedules differ from weekday ones, so look up the reunion's actual day.

How big a room does a class reunion need?

Count replies before you book, then pick the format that fits. Ask each venue for its capacity, because an event room and a bar area hold very different numbers.

  • A small turnout. A table at Reunion BBQ or Night Shift works without an event contract.
  • A full class. Rochambeau and the College Club both have event space. Contact them early, because their free dates set yours.
  • Partners and kids too. Start in the afternoon at the Lawn on D, then move the adults to a bar later.

How late can a class reunion run?

On Friday and Saturday, three of these places stay open past midnight, but the T doesn't run all night. Plan the last stop around the trains.

Clerys stays open until 2 a.m. on those nights, Reunion BBQ until 1:30 a.m., and SPIN until 1 a.m. The MBTA's subway guide says to reach a downtown transfer station by 1:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday to make the last connections. Here are two example nights, with walk times from Google Maps:

  1. Back Bay. Dinner at Rochambeau, then about a 16-minute walk to Clerys, next to the Orange Line.
  2. Seaport. An afternoon at the Lawn on D from noon, then about a 16-minute walk to SPIN for the evening.

How to do it in Where2Meet

Post one Where2Meet link in the class group chat, since classmates can open it without an account. Each person adds the station or neighborhood they're leaving from, and whoever keeps the guest list adds the classmates who never check the chat. Put the dinner picks and the after-party picks to a vote, then the organizer books the winner once the routes show who has the longest ride.

Common questions

What is a good class reunion venue in Boston?

For a full class, Rochambeau and the College Club of Boston both have event space you can book. For a smaller group, Night Shift and Reunion BBQ take table reservations and suit groups.

How far ahead should you book a class reunion?

Book the venue before you send a save-the-date, because its open dates decide yours. Classmates who travel then have time to book trains, flights and a room.

Where can a class reunion go after dinner?

Clerys and Reunion BBQ stay open past 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, and SPIN adds ping-pong. Pick the one closest to dinner so the group walks over together.
