A good team meeting venue in Back Bay is a bookable room a short walk from the Green Line, sized to your headcount. Workbar by Arlington, Idea Space on Boylston Street and the Hilton on Dalton Street cover most teams. Your people ride different Green Line branches, someone comes in on the Orange Line, and you're the one who has to book the room.

This post suggests seven places, then covers which T stop suits each one and what the rooms cost. It's part of our guide to Back Bay, and where to meet for a team meeting in Boston covers the rest of the city.

Which team meeting venue in Back Bay fits your group?

Decide by headcount and length. A working session needs a room, a full day or a big group needs the hotel, and a short check-in or a team lunch can happen at a table.

  • Workbar Back Bay

Book this coworking space when a small team needs its own room for a few hours. You can reserve online with no membership. It's on the sixth floor at 399 Boylston Street, open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and about a 1-minute walk from Arlington.

  • Idea Space

Try this fifth-floor coworking space when Hynes suits the team better than Arlington. Its listed conference room seats up to 12. It's open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., about a 6-minute walk from Hynes and about 7 from Copley.

  • Hilton Boston Back Bay

Consider this Dalton Street hotel for a full-day session or a group too big for a coworking room. Ask its events team for a quote. Prudential and Hynes are each about a 5-minute walk, so every Green Line branch has a short trip.

  • Tatte Bakery & Cafe | Back Bay

Walk in here for a short morning check-in, since it's good for groups but takes no reservations. It's inexpensive and opens at 7 a.m., or 7:30 a.m. on Sunday. It shares 399 Boylston Street with Workbar, about a 1-minute walk from Arlington.

  • Flour Bakery + Cafe

Pick up breakfast at this inexpensive bakery before a session at the Hilton, which is on the same street. It opens at 7 a.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. on weekends, and it closes at 7 p.m. on weekdays. Prudential is about a 4-minute walk.

  • Terra

Reserve this restaurant on the third floor of Eataly for a team lunch after a morning meeting. It's good for groups and opens at 11:30 a.m. Monday to Thursday and 11 a.m. on Friday. Hynes is about a 6-minute walk, and Copley about 7.

  • Back Bay Social

Take the team here after a session at Idea Space, because both are at 867 Boylston Street. It's moderately priced, good for groups and takes reservations. It stays open until 2 a.m. every night, and Hynes is about a 6-minute walk.

Google Maps

The hours, reservations, price levels and walk times on these cards come from Google Maps as of November 2026. Walk times start at each MBTA station. The Idea Space room size comes from its LiquidSpace listing.

Two pairs share an address. You can get coffee at Tatte before a morning at Workbar, or go down to Back Bay Social after an afternoon at Idea Space. Neither plan moves the team across the neighborhood.

Which T stop should your team use?

Count how many people ride each line, then pick the venue nearest most of them. Back Bay's stops serve different branches, so the right room depends on who's coming.

  • Any Green Line branch. All four stop at Copley and Arlington, so Workbar suits a team spread across every branch.
  • B, C and D or E. West of Copley the B, C and D stop at Hynes, and the E stops at Prudential. The Hilton sits between the two.
  • Orange Line and commuter rail. Back Bay station has the Orange Line and the Framingham/Worcester, Franklin/Foxboro, Needham and Providence/Stoughton lines. Workbar and Idea Space are each about a 12-minute walk from it, and the Hilton about 15.

An E branch rider going to Idea Space or Terra should get off at Copley, about a 7-minute walk, because the E doesn't stop at Hynes.

What does a meeting room in Back Bay cost?

Expect $50 to $100 an hour for up to 10 people at Workbar, and $99 an hour for the 12-seat room at Idea Space. A large event at the Hilton needs a quote.

Workbar's meeting room page lists these hourly rates. It says prices vary by room size and location, so check the Back Bay calendar before you budget.

  • 2 to 4 people, $50
  • 5 to 7 people, $75
  • 8 to 10 people, $100
  • 10 to 14 people, $200
  • 15 to 20 people, $250
  • 21 or more people, $300

Daily rates start at $360. As an example, two hours for six people comes to $150 at the listed rate.

LiquidSpace lists the Idea Space room at $99 an hour, $375 a half day or $699 a day. Other booking sites show different prices, so confirm with Idea Space before you commit.

Cvent lists about 15,000 square feet of meeting space at the Hilton, for programs of up to 500 guests. Send the hotel your headcount and date, and ask for its smallest room that fits.

How to do it in Where2Meet

Whoever is booking the room starts a Team meeting plan in Where2Meet and adds Arlington, Hynes or Back Bay station for anyone who hasn't replied yet. Compare transit times to Workbar and the Hilton, because one is by Arlington and the other by Hynes and Prudential. After the vote, the organizer picks the final room and books it.
