Where to meet up in Hollywood

Hollywood suits a night out. Groups meet here for dinner before a show at the Pantages, a movie at the TCL Chinese Theatre or a concert at the Hollywood Bowl. It also works when a friend is visiting from out of town and wants to walk Hollywood Boulevard. The B Line has three stations on Hollywood Boulevard, so people can come by train from Downtown LA, Koreatown or the San Fernando Valley.
Landmarks that are easy to name in a plan:
- the forecourt of the TCL Chinese Theatre, next to the Hollywood/Highland station
- the Pantages Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard, at the Hollywood/Vine station
- the Capitol Records Building on Vine Street, just north of Hollywood Boulevard
- the Hollywood Bowl, up Highland Avenue from the Hollywood/Highland station
Getting around
- The B Line stops at Hollywood/Highland, Hollywood/Vine and Hollywood/Western. It runs south to Koreatown and Downtown LA, and north to Universal City and North Hollywood.
- Park and ride. Metro's B Line timetable lists parking at Universal City and North Hollywood, one and two stops north of Hollywood/Highland. A friend driving from the Valley can park there and ride in, instead of looking for parking on the boulevard.
- Trains come about every 10 minutes in the daytime and every 20 minutes late at night, on weekdays and weekends.
Late at night:
- The last B Line train toward Downtown LA leaves Hollywood/Highland at 12:12 a.m., every day.
- The last train toward Universal City and North Hollywood leaves Hollywood/Highland at 12:25 a.m.
- Lines 217 and 224 both stop at Hollywood/Highland, and both are on Metro's Night Services map of buses that run from midnight to 4 a.m.
