Sauna with friends in Boston
- Bathhouse visit
The Where2Meet team · Published · Updated

A sauna with friends in Boston works best at a place that lets the whole group heat up and cool down at one time. South Boston and the Seaport have the most choice, and Chelsea and Everett add an old steam bath and a resort spa. Maybe one friend wants a cold plunge, another wants to talk in the steam, and nobody wants to book four separate trips across the city.
This post suggests six saunas, steam baths and spa lounges. It then covers mixed groups, booking and the T. It's part of our guide to Boston.
Where can you go to a sauna with friends in Boston?
Pick by group size first. Remedy Place and Moki take a group in one room, while SweatHouz and the Mandarin Suite suit a pair.

We checked the hours and walk times on these cards on Google Maps in November 2026, and the facilities and rules on each place's own site or in its press coverage.
The picks sit in three areas. South Boston and the Seaport suit friends on the Red Line or the Silver Line. Chelsea is a short SL3 ride from South Station. Everett and the Mandarin Oriental in Back Bay work for friends who want a longer spa visit.

Can men and women go together?
Yes at Moki, Remedy Place and SweatHouz, which sell sessions the whole group shares. At Dillon's and the Encore spa, a mixed group splits up.
Dillon's opens to women on Monday afternoon and to men the rest of the week. Its site lists two hours of admission at $40. The Encore spa has separate lounges for men and women, each with its own steam room, sauna and plunge pools, as the Forbes Travel Guide listing says. So plan to meet again after, in the spa's shared spaces or at a meal.

Should you book a session or walk in?
Book. Every pick here sells timed sessions, treatments or group bookings, so one person books for everyone.
Moki sells social sessions, where you share the sauna with other guests, and private rentals for your group alone. A private rental keeps the conversation inside the group. At Remedy Place, the Boston Globe reports group bookings for birthdays and work outings. Book the same start time for everyone, and ask each place what to bring, such as a swimsuit or flip-flops.
How do you get there and home on the T?
Pick the place on the line most of the group rides, then check the last train. Every pick closes by 9 p.m., so the subway is still running when you leave.
Moki is closest to Andrew on the Red Line. Remedy Place is closest to World Trade Center on the Silver Line, two stops from South Station. For Dillon's, ride the SL3 from South Station to Chelsea. Encore's directions page lists a shuttle from 209 Essex Street near South Station and buses from Sullivan Square.

The MBTA subway guide has the hours for the ride home. If the group wants dinner after, see where to hang out with friends in Boston.
How to do it in Where2Meet
Start a Where2Meet plan as a Bathhouse visit and send the link to the friends who want to sweat. Each friend adds the station they leave from, such as Andrew, Chelsea or Copley, so you can compare transit times to Moki, Remedy Place and Dillon's side by side. The group votes, and the organizer picks the place and books one session for everyone.
