The right baby shower venue in Back Bay depends on your reply count. A reserved table suits a small group, and a room booked by date suits a larger one. You don't know yet who's coming, the parent-to-be wants to avoid stairs, and someone has to get a carload of gifts home.

This post, part of our Back Bay guide, lists seven places, then covers stations with elevators, parking for the gift car and the dates that close streets. For picks across the city, see where to have a baby shower in Boston.

Which baby shower venue in Back Bay fits your guest list?

Count replies first, then choose a table or a room. Three of these venues name showers on their own event pages, and the others need a call.

Our picks in Back Bay

Chosen by the Where2Meet team. Photos, ratings and addresses load live from Google Maps.

  • Courtyard Tea Room

Reserve a table here for a small daytime shower built around afternoon tea, and allow for the closed Monday and the 4:45 p.m. weekend closing. Copley, on all four Green Line branches, is about a 2-minute walk.

  • The College Club of Boston

Baby showers appear by name on this Commonwealth Avenue club's event page, and its rooms seat up to 60. Listed hours end at 3 p.m. on Saturday and noon on Sunday, so confirm your time slot. Arlington is about a 5-minute walk.

  • Rochambeau

Showers are among the uses this French restaurant gives for its Bordeaux Room, which seats 30, 40 or 75 depending on how it's divided. Prices run expensive, so set a budget before you call. Hynes is about a 4-minute walk.

  • Sonsie

Morning showers suit this moderately priced Newbury Street restaurant, since it opens at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday and takes reservations. Its event page names baby showers, and the Wine Room seats up to 36. Hynes is about a 3-minute walk.

  • The Newbury Boston

Pick this hotel at the Public Garden end of Newbury Street when you want a private room for about 30. Its salons overlook the garden, and the Newbury Salon East seats 30 at rounds of 10. Arlington is about a 2-minute walk.

  • Fairmont Copley Plaza, Boston

Relatives on the commuter rail get a short walk to this Copley Square hotel, about 3 minutes from Back Bay station. Ask for the Sargent Room or the Back Bay Room, which each seat 30 at a banquet, not the ballroom. Copley is about a 2-minute walk.

  • The Tower: A Longwood Venue

Book this four-floor event venue on Arlington Street by date when the guest list outgrows a restaurant. Its Green Room seats 50 and its Parlor 180 with a program, and it keeps no public hours. Arlington is about a 4-minute walk.

Google Maps

The hours, reservations, price levels and walk times on these cards come from Google Maps as of November 2026. Room counts come from each venue's own event page, linked under Common questions.

Which Back Bay station is easiest for the parent-to-be?

Use Arlington or Copley when stairs are a problem. Both have elevators and serve all four Green Line branches, while Hynes has no elevators.

  • Arlington and Copley. Five of the seven picks are within about a 5-minute walk of one or the other.
  • Prudential. Rochambeau and Sonsie sit closest to Hynes, so the step-free choice is Prudential, about 7 and 9 minutes on foot. Only the E branch stops there.
  • Back Bay. Relatives on the Orange Line or the commuter rail can get off here. The Courtyard Tea Room is about a 5-minute walk.

The Arlington station page shows whether each elevator is working, so check it that morning. Ask the venue about steps too, since the College Club is a row house and The Tower has four floors.

Where can guests park and load the gifts?

Send the gift driver to a garage, because some Back Bay meters have short limits. The city's meter page lists Back Bay meters at $3.75 an hour, Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Some sections stop at 30 minutes, and the south side of Boylston Street between Arlington and Clarendon stops at 15. Sundays and city holidays are free, but other parking rules still apply.

The Prudential Center garage is open 24 hours. With a $25 purchase at Prudential Center and entry after 9:30 a.m., up to four hours cost $20. Ask your venue about its own validation or valet.

Which dates should you avoid in Back Bay?

Skip Marathon Monday, and check Open Newbury before you book a Sunday on Newbury Street.

  • Marathon Monday. The B.A.A. has set the 2027 race for Monday, April 19. In 2026 the MBTA closed Copley all day and pointed riders to Arlington, Prudential, Hynes and Back Bay. No 2027 notice is out yet.
  • Open Newbury. In 2026 the city closed Newbury Street to cars from Berkeley Street to Massachusetts Avenue on ten Sundays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sonsie sits on that stretch, so no car can drop a guest at its door during those hours. The city hasn't posted 2027 dates.

How to do it in Where2Meet

The host starts one Where2Meet link and adds the parent-to-be's cross street first, because that trip should set the shortlist. Search by name for the Courtyard Tea Room and The Tower, one a table near Copley and the other a room near Arlington, then compare transit and driving times, since someone has to bring the gifts by car. Guests vote, and the host picks the spot before calling to book.
