Where to meet up in the Financial District

The Financial District is San Francisco's office core, between Market Street, Kearny Street and the waterfront. It suits plans that start at work, like a team lunch, a client coffee or drinks after the office. The Ferry Building and the Embarcadero promenade at its east end also suit a weekend walk or a meal by the bay.
Most of the district is within a short walk of two stations on Market Street, Montgomery St and Embarcadero. Both have BART and Muni Metro, so a group coming from the East Bay, the Peninsula and the west side of the city can reach either one.
Places that work as a meeting point:
- the front of the Ferry Building, facing the foot of Market Street
- Embarcadero Center, the four office towers and shops above the Embarcadero station
- the Salesforce Transit Center and its rooftop park
- the California Street cable car stop at Drumm Street
Getting around
- Embarcadero and Montgomery St each have four BART lines. The Embarcadero station page says it is close to the Ferry Building, Embarcadero Center, the Salesforce Transit Center and the California Street cable car.
- The J, K, L, M and N Muni Metro lines stop at both stations. The N continues past Embarcadero along The Embarcadero to 4th and King, as the N Judah page shows.
- The F Market & Wharves streetcar runs along Market Street, loops past the Ferry Building and follows the waterfront to Fisherman's Wharf. It runs from 7 a.m. to midnight daily, as its route page says.
- The California cable car runs between Embarcadero and Van Ness Avenue from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, as its route page says.
Some of these change at night and on weekends:
- BART opens at 5 a.m. on weekdays, 6 a.m. on Saturdays and 8 a.m. on Sundays, and it closes around midnight, as its schedules page says.
- From 12 a.m. to 5 a.m., Muni's Owl buses run every half hour. The L Owl and N Owl replace those two Muni Metro lines, and the F's route page points riders to the L Owl at night.
- The 38 Geary runs 24 hours a day and ends at the Salesforce Transit Center, as its route page shows.
